PROGRAMS

Ecology, food security and climate resilience

Caritas Mauritania works to combat poverty and enhance food security in South Brakna and in the Department of M’Bout in the region of Gorgol by strengthening local agricultural systems through integrated development, while building the capacity of Producer Organizations, State Technical Services, and vulnerable populations to improve their climate resilience and nutritional outcomes.

Citizen Engagement

Through this program, Caritas Mauritania ensures to support the efforts of local development actors in Dar Naïm and Sebkha to promote civic education, enhance access to social rights, and empower vulnerable women and young people.

Livelihood

Make a sustainable contribution to the training and integration of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds while promoting the empowerment of women and vulnerable groups, in alignment with public policies on vocational training and employment.

Migrant Support

Support initiatives that enhance the living conditions of sub-Saharan migrants by facilitating access to housing, healthcare, education, legal assistance, and employment opportunities while promoting social inclusion and integration.

Legal Aid

Promote and uphold the rights of detained individuals by ensuring humane treatment and access to legal assistance. Support efforts to improve detention conditions, and facilitate the social and professional reintegration of former inmates.
